Senior Product Designer - Detroit, MI (Remote)

I spend most of my time where business logic, systems thinking, and real user behavior collide, five years leading design systems and platform architecture at Converse (Nike, Inc.), and nights/weekends shipping three independent products solo, start to finish, one of them AI-native.

Five years inside Converse (Nike, Inc.) building the platform layer underneath the storefront: the design system and page-builder kit that content teams assemble campaigns from, the navigation architecture that scales across markets, and the governance model that keeps promotions from swallowing the site whole. The throughline: turning one-off builds into systems other teams could run without me in the room.
Three apps conceived, designed, and shipped end-to-end on nights and weekends: a betting-analytics platform with its own OCR pipeline and an AI query layer, a private social feed for a family's cat photos, and a concert-history dashboard backed by its own Postgres database. No handoffs, no spec docs for someone else to build from, just the whole thing, start to finish, product, design, and code.
Earlier-career ecommerce work at Art Van Furniture and Loves Furniture, homepage, search, and merchandising redesigns measured against real conversion and clickthrough numbers, back when the job was still mostly about one page at a time.
